Central Banks have made considerable progress in recent years in integrating big new datasets into their policy analysis and decision-making. Granular data collected by central banks themselves have, in particular, become an indispensable source of information for policymakers. Especially when it comes to Analytics and building the underlying Big Data infrastructure a scalable and flexible architecture is needed as well as a transformation of the organization to support and embrace new advanced analytics and machine learning techniques and tools for data analysis.
This session will demonstrate, how these challenges where solved at the European Central Bank. Participants will learn how to move from fragmented data storage, data silos and little dedicated infrastructure for big data analytics and machine learning to a modern secure but also scalable and flexible data architecture.
